A large amount of WNBA players absolutely hate Caitlin Clark even though she already elevated the league to an unprecedented level of popularity in less than two full years. Indianapolis does not care how they feel toward its local superstar.
It is actively welcoming the haters to town with the player they hate the most.
The city, in partnership with the WNBA and Nike, installed a massive graphic on the outside of the JW Marriott hotel right in the heart of downtown prior to the All-Star Game. The mural/poster/banner, whatever you want to call it, stretches more than 100 feet tall over at least 34 floors. You literally cannot miss it.
The JW Marriott often installs various graphics for different events. However, this is by far the largest one to date.

I love everything about this. The JW Marriott is located just up the street from Gainbridge Fieldhouse. You can see the hotel from pretty much everywhere in that part of downtown. There is no way to avoid it.
Thus, as the salty veterans of the WNBA arrive to Indianapolis for the All-Star Game with a chip on their shoulder toward Caitlin Clark, they will be greeted by a giant mural of the person they hate the most. It is a hilarious reality for a group of people who would prefer if she did not exist.
And yet, the league would not be where it is today without her. Caitlin Clark is the biggest star in WNBA history as a second-year player. She already held that status as a rookie before she even played her first professional game. Just look at the ratings over the last 14 months.
I don’t know if the other players in the league are jealous or racist or what. They treat Clark so differently than other young stars like Paige Bueckers. They go after her at every opportunity. I don’t get it.
All of these WNBA athletes wanted to be taken seriously for so long — but now that the league is at its peak in terms of popularity those same athletes treat the primary catalyst for change like she is the devil. It is a very bad look.
And yet, those women who love to hate on Caitlin Clark will be forced to look at a 100-foot+ poster of the player they hate the most upon arrival to the All-Star Game in Indianapolis. That’s gold!
