‘Going Out Like A Man’: Man Fires Up His Traeger Grill Inside. Here’s Why That’s A Big No-No

A man brought his Traeger Grill indoors for a barbecue and was moved by the fumes to spread his new-found gospel. But this is simply a bad idea that no one—and we mean no one—should ever attempt at home.

TikTok user @kkzhang6678 posted what we hope is a parody video on June 16. In the video, he sits in his living room and everything is normal—except, of course, for the Traeger Grill releasing plumes of smoke.

He says, “Bro. Lowkey. Best part about grilling inside? If you get sleepy or get a headache? Bro, you can sit back and chill, bro. Like, this is a f—— move, bro.”

In the caption, he writes, “Going out like a man.”

This Is Satire, We Hope

The tone and tenor of this video is pure satire. However, this is the internet, so anything is possible. Maybe the video is completely sincere.

Sincerity has never been the strong suit of comments sections, though. And this one proves no different.

“You’re about to get the best sleep of your life,” joked one viewer.

“Oh yeah, that food about to be heavenly,” quipped a second.

A third said, “This woulda done numbers in Covid boiii.”

Don’t Ever Grill Indoors, Please And Thank You

Whether it’s due to inclement weather or pure laziness, the idea of grilling indoors might’ve crossed your mind at some point. Well, let that sucker keep on walking. Because grilling inside of a domicile is one of the more dangerous things you can do.

Simply put: Using a grill indoors can kill you. That’s because charcoal and propane grills put out carbon monoxide that is poisonous to humans. If you’re around your grill in a place with no ventilation, you can put two and two together. That’s why the TikToker joked about getting a headache and taking a nap.

What To Do If You Suspect You Have Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

If you suspect that you or a loved one has carbon monoxide poisoning, please, please, please do not follow this video’s advice and go to sleep. The symptoms include headache, dizziness, nausea, shortness of breath, and confusion.

If that sounds like you: Go outside immediately, call 911, and go to the hospital for immediate treatment. The hospital will likely give you pure oxygen through a mask (or a ventilator in extreme cases). You might also have to visit the hyperbaric oxygen chamber, which helps replace the carbon monoxide in your blood with oxygen.
