‘Would They Have Banned You If You Lost?’: Man Says He Won $100K At Resorts World Las Vegas Casino. Then He Gets Banned

Not many people wake up to good news after a blurry night out in Las Vegas. But one TikToker says that’s exactly what happened. Except, it came at a cost.

In a recent video, TikToker @slotsandsails, who goes by The Gig Work Gambler, says he walked away from Resorts World with a $100,000 win.

But just as he was planning a return trip, he got hit with something else entirely: a ban from Resorts World, which recently reported a pretty major decline in revenue and earnings.

Banned After Big Win?

“So [in] my last post, I showed off winning, like, 100 and some thousand dollars at the casino in Vegas,” he explains in the clip, which has since pulled in over 23,000 views.

He explains he planned to go back for the Fourth of July. The hotel stay was confirmed. But then, he says he got a call.

“They just informed me that I’m banned from Resorts World,” he says. “They let me book the hotel, but they said I can’t gamble there.”

He doesn’t say if the casino gave him an official reason for the ban, but he adds, “I guess I was a menace.”

Still, he seemed confused. “I would have thought they’d want a chance to get some of that $100K back,” he quips.

He ends the video by asking his followers for recommendations on where else to gamble in Vegas—somewhere that’s not Resorts World.

Do Casinos Really Ban Big Or Frequent Winners?

While it’s not officially confirmed, many players online seem to think so

According to an unofficial report by a casino blog, casinos are private businesses, which means they have the right to refuse service to anyone. In most cases, getting banned just for winning is extremely rare.

If a player is using a strategy that gives them an edge—like card-counting in blackjack—they’re much more likely to get shown the door, or at least told they can’t play that game anymore. Full-on bans are less common but not unheard of.

More often, casinos take softer measures. One common tactic is revoking comps, like free drinks, hotel stays, or other perks.

Basically, if a player keeps winning, some casinos decide they’ve already comped themselves in cash and no longer qualify for freebies.

What’s The Smoothie Incident?

In the comments, several users said the same thing. “Saw that coming,” one person wrote. “Anyone who wins big gets banned.”

“Would they have banned you if you lost $100,000 there?” another questioned.

Others joked about the real reason behind the ban.

“Did you ask for a strawberry banana smoothie??! Is that maybe why?” one person laughed.

They are referencing a viral story about a Resorts World player who was refused a free smoothie valued at only $10 while they played blackjack for $25,000 a hand. The casino got relentlessly mocked online for the seemingly stingy move.
