Unless you were hidden under a rock somewhere (or maybe you just weren’t on social media) you had to hear about the buzz being created by Nebraska football quarterback Dylan Raiola Monday at the Polynesian Bowl.
Raiola was taking part in the first day of practice for the high school football all-star game that will be broadcast on Friday night on NFL Network. Other future Huskers Carter Nelson and Preston Taumua are also taking part in the game.
However, Raiola turned some heads just by throwing the ball against air on Monday. I know, it seems like an overreaction and maybe it is, but I’ve never seen a Nebraska football quarterback spin it like Raiola.

It’s impressive how easily the ball comes out of his hand. It’s effortless. Not only that but the kid is built to play in the NFL and there’s no doubt he’s ready for the college game.
The future Nebraska football starting quarterback flashed off his arm strength too, as well as his accuracy, winning the long ball competition on Monday with a throw of 72 yards.
72 yards🤯

This throw (below) by Dylan Raiola really shows off his arm talent, especially compared to another quarterback. Raiola just flicks the ball with ease. The dude already looks like a high-level college quarterback.

A little connection from Nebraska QB signee Dylan Raiola to Notre Dame-bound receiver Logan Saldate on the first day of practice at the Polynesian Bowl earlier today. Raiola won the QB long toss challenge with a 72-yard throw. pic.twitter.com/EQgxoBdquO

It will be fun to see Raiola, Nelson, and Taumua the rest of this week, but it’s safe to say that Nebraska football fans have a legitimate reason to be excited about Raiola. I for one can’t wait to see him ball out on Friday night.
Speaking of balling out, Trey Palmer did that on Monday night in the Wildcard round of the NFL Playoffs. Playing for the Bucs, Palmer delivered a dagger to the Philadelphia Eagles in the third quarter. The Bucs were leading 18-9 in the third when the former Nebraska football standout caught a 56-yard touchdown pass from Baker Mayfield.

That allows Palmer and Lavante David, another former Nebraska football great, to advance to the NFC Divisional round against Detroit.
