Reward offered for ‘Jake the Tiger dog’ safe return

The Auburn Tigers “unofficial mascot,” who attended Auburn games and events for more than a decade, is missing after escaping from his Pelham home.

Ron Sanford, the owner of “Jake the Tiger Dog”, said Jake pushed through the screened-in porch last Friday night and escaped and has not been seen since.

Jake is a 12-year-old Maltese and Sanford says he is wearing a collar and is chipped to Altadena Valley Animal Clinic.

Sanford stopped bringing Jake to functions roughly a year ago, retiring the famous “Tiger Dog,” so he now is back to his regular white fur with a little bit of orange in his ears.

Sanford is concerned someone might have picked Jake up, and he is offering a $1,000 cash reward for his safe return.

If you see Jake or have any information about the legendary Tiger dog, call Sanford at 205-492-6956.
