Carson Ware is making a big change to his appearance. The 25-year-old NASCAR driver will start the removal process for his tattoos next week.
He hopes it will make a difference for his sponsors.
Ware, who made his NASCAR debut in 2020, drives multiple different cars on the Xfinity Series. Jacob Construction serves as his primary and most consistent sponsor but he also drives cars wrapped with Costa Oil, Hitch Go, Total Wheel Repair, Save 22 and CreaBitty. This latest decision seems to be an attempt to draw a greater interest from financial backers. At the very least, he wants to better represent the companies that are already on board.
After some time thinking, I have decided to remove my neck and face tattoos. My first appointment is next Tuesday! For those that never judged me because of them, you have no idea what that meant. For those that did, I can’t say I blame you or don’t understand.
I want to be able to represent companies in #nascar to the best of my ability, and this decision aligns with that.

Carson Ware looks different from his more clean-cut competition.

The North Carolina-native has multiple tattoos above the collarbone. One is on his right cheek below the eye and one is on the right side of his neck.
He also has a tattoo on the left side of his neck.
It would not be entirely accurate to label Ware as the “bad boy of racing” but he was suspended from the sport in 2021 after he was arrested on assault and property damage charges. It took him three full years to return to NASCAR competition after the suspension.
Whether fair or not, Carson Ware was already prejudged on his tattoos. The arrest and subsequent suspension did not help his image or the the preconceived opinions of who he is as a person.
Perhaps Ware and his team are struggling to find additional sponsors. Perhaps this was a decision he made for himself because his frontal lobe fully developed when he turned 25 in February. I don’t know the meaning behind his tattoos or why exactly he is choosing to have them removed but his comment about wanting to “represent companies to the best of his ability” is telling.
Ware will begin the tattoo removal process on Tuesday. It could take years. In the meantime, he is very grateful to everyone who did not push him out because of his appearance.
I remember the first time NASCAR posted something on instagram before the Xfinity race, and I made the cut. I remember sending the post to my family overwhelmed with excitement and emotions, felt like they accepted me and weren’t hiding it. S/o NASCAR & The CW

Although Ware seems set on removal, some NASCAR fans suggested an alternative route. What if Jelly Roll sponsored his car moving forward?
Maybe something can get done in the next seven days. Carson Ware could keep his tattoos if the country music singer got on board. In fact, they would be encouraged!
