A woman shared her boyfriend’s “new way of drinking at baseball games.” But some viewers think his way of skirting the two-drinks-at-a-time rule that many baseball stadiums have in place is “red flag” behavior. Here’s why.
“OK, my boyfriend is convinced he’s created a new way of drinking at baseball games,” Paige Satterlee (@paigesatterlee) starts. “The last one we were at, he had about 40 beers. Anyway, he said he’s really excited to show me his new way of drinking.”
The TikToker, who has nearly 60,000 followers, then gives her boyfriend the floor.
“OK, so they only let you get two beers at a time—maybe, depending on the ballpark,” Satterlee’s boyfriend says. “And the worst thing is—you get your beer, and then you go sit down, and it’s already gone.”
The couple appear to be at a Seattle Mariners game, as he holds up the team’s logo-branded cup.
His method is simple. The first few innings—before he says the game gets really good—he runs back and forth, from the bar to his seat, to collect all his drinks. That way he doesn’t have to miss the “good innings” to be at the bar. But his hack involves him missing a good portion of the game, leaving his girlfriend on her own for a few innings, and drinking warm beer.
He then demonstrates after Satterlee expresses doubt.
“No one can get you that many beers,” she warns. However, her boyfriend is unfazed by her lack of faith and says, “Trust me. Watch.”
He saunters down the steps to fetch more brews and returns with two chilled cans of Coors Light. He drops the drinks off before heading back down to the bar.
“You are not,” she tells him.
“Trust me,” he tells her, explaining he’s going to a different bar to get more drinks.
As it turns out, his plan worked. He emerges from the steps with two more cans. He then pulls out the receipt to show how he spent “a lot of money.”
Satterlee says to the camera, “I’d like to note this is my second inning sitting alone, going on three.”
Finally, her boyfriend takes a seat, with his four tall boys beside him.
“Really, really impressive,” she tells him.
He replies, “This is like the greatest achievement of my life.” He then clarifies his greatest achievement is his discovery of the loophole.
Satterlee’s video has been viewed nearly 4 million times. Viewers really did not hold back, expressing everything from concern over Satterlee’s boyfriend’s drinking habits to how they think she should dump him. “Your boyfriend is an alcoholic who likes warm beer,” one wrote in a comment that received 44,000 likes.
“So the method is getting sloshed on warm, expensive beer. And letting his girl watch the game by herself for 40 minutes?” another questioned.
“Was this supposed to be funny or a cry for help,” another asked Satterlee.
“Red flag on a few different levels,” a fourth said.

There are a few reasons why many Major League Baseball stadiums have drink limits:
In addition to drink limits, stadiums may also stop alcohol sales at a certain time. Historically, teams have cut off sales at the end of the seventh inning, and many still follow this long-standing practice. However, in 2023, many teams also extended their beer sales into the end of the eighth inning.
