Marek Turner is one of the best high school volleyball players in the entire country. His vertical leap puts his chest well above the net every time he jumps.
The 17-year-old can fly!
Turner is a two-sport star at Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, California. Although he plays an important role for the Bruins on the hardwood, he has a future on the collegiate level in volleyball. UCLA ultimately received his commitment back in November for this upcoming fall.
Similar to basketball, high school competition does not matter as much as club when it comes to recruiting in volleyball. Schools will always take high school stats and highlights into account — especially in the greater Los Angeles area where talent is at its highest — but the club circuit is far more important.
Marek Turner competes for Team Rockstar on the ‘A’ Team. It is consistently ranked as one of the top-10 or top-25 clubs in the entire country alongside OCVC, Balboa Bay, Bay to Bay, and MB Surf. He is the (co) best player on his team.

Turner also competes for Team USA on the U19 and U21 levels.
He consistently holds his own among some of the best volleyball players in the world.
When you say jump, Turner asks how high! His impressive vertical is the primary catalyst for his success— whether that be on the attack or on the block.
The official regulation height for a net in men’s volleyball is 7 feet, 11 5/8 inches. Turner is listed at 6-foot-4. His entire chest gets above the net which means he is jumping at least 40 inches.
Remember, Turner is only 17 years old. This is only the beginning of his potential. UCLA is going to get him on a college strength and conditioning program, which will only increase his vertical. Look out below!
